Boxing Documentary Short Film
Donation protected
I’m in production of a 10-15 minute documentary about a Ghanaian-Italian professional boxer known as 'Blackstar', inspired by his national flag and with a record of 4 wins undefeated (4-0). He fights out of Italy while awaiting his English boxing license approval.
This film will be a short story about adversity, chasing dreams, sacrifice and a deep insight into the discipline, inner thoughts and pressure of an ambitious boxer's life. It will be a unique production that shows the reality of a boxer trying to break through to the big time at the middle of his career.
I’m flying out with Joshua aka Blackstar to Italy to film his fourth professional fight on 23 March to capture an important segment of the film.
I’m making this page as it’s my third documentary and this time I’m making it alone with no budget. It doesn't help that my camera recently broke! To make this the best possible production with limited resources, I need to get the right sound equipment. Anyone who's been in a gym or at a boxing bout will know how special and atmospheric the sounds are.
I’m asking you to donate so I can get the industry-standard equipment I need to keep filming and capture the best possible sound. Unfortunately, a couple of recent takes have been ruined by poor sound quality.
Any small donations even £1-£10 add up and are very welcome.
Why can I do this film well?
Two of my previous co-directed documentaries were broadcast at film festivals all over the world and award-nominated. If I reach my goal, I’m sure this film has the potential to do the same or better.
What I need:
4 TB hard drive - £269
Shotgun mic - £300
Film festival Application fee's £100
Contingency - £200
Overall goal - £896
As soon as the target is reached I will close the page so that I can manage the commitments I've promised and meet, and meet my shooting deadline for the film
