This October 8–10, six of Canada's top university basketball programs (TMU, McGill, McMaster, Saskatchewan, Windsor and St. FX) will compete at the Mattamy Athletic Centre in the Darcel Wright Memorial Classic, a tournament named in honour of one of TMU's greatest athletes. Darcel Wright set a 56-point single-game scoring record and became the first women's basketball player inducted into TMU's Sports Hall of Fame, before passing away in 2008 at age 41. The tournament has carried her name and legacy ever since.
