Hi I'm Bowie,
I am 2 and a half years old! I was born 7 weeks early due to a medical emergency. I suffered severe brain damage. The doctors said I would never breath on my own, eat on my own, walk or talk. Well I am already beating those odds! I have spastic hemiplegic cerebral palsy, I have been doing physical and occupational therapy since 3 months old and I am now ready to start moving around the house and tearing it up!
This is the Explorer Mini, I got to test it out several times and its my new favorite! It's one of a kind design allows me to have the option to sit and stand in it. It promotes independence and exploration, which gives me the ability to develop in so many areas of the brain that effect walking, talking, visiual processing, and even hand eye coordination. It also allows me to weight bare on my legs which is critical in developing strong bones and joints! This device is a tool for me to use for therapy. It will help me use my gait trainer and help to make me more independent. I am excited to learn and grow!
Insurance won't cover this mobility chair for me. The out of pocket cost is $2,700. Usually mobility chairs are upwards of $6,000 so this is a cost efficient and effective device.
