Bowie the Cat's Emergency Vet Fund

Hi, my name is Noelle. My sweet 6-year-old, Bowie, wound up at emergency today. About 2.5 weeks ago, he got into a box of my stuff and took two chunks out of some knee pads I had. He vomited it up and we monitored him and he seemed fine. The night before last, he vomited up a large hairball but was playful and seemed fine. Today, he vomited multiple times and was very lethargic. My mom instinct kicked in and I brought him to emergency. His tummy felt swollen and he seemed distressed when they examined him. They immediately did an x-ray and blood tests. Based on the x-ray, part of his stomach looks as the vet says, "like an accordion," which of course isn't normal. What the vet thinks it might be is a piece of that kneepad somehow got lodged in his stomach and is stuck there. They hospitalized him on IV fluids and medication. Tomorrow, they will do another x-ray, if it looks the same, which we think it will, he will require surgery on Monday.

As many of you know, I have just returned from my first tour dates to support my new record. Touring like this, when you are an independent musician can be very expensive. It's about getting your music heard, therefore you tend to not turn a profit, which I didn't. I only returned early Wednesday morning. Timing is everything, as they say. I know there is never a good time for an emergency vet, but I am tapped out after making the record, pressing the CDs and planning the tour. So I am asking for your help. No dollar amount is too small. If for some reason, I get overfunded, I will pay it forward and donate to an incredible animal rescue a dear friend of mine runs.
