Bower Cafe: Nourishing Our Nest

Bower Cafe grows from my love of family. Specifically, the cafe honors my father, who passed in 2011. He loved to cook meat! And not just for us. Whenever my father cooked, the whole neighborhood would come to eat. He would roast pigs and smoke all types of meats. I grew up with this, and it speaks to what family means to me: care and connection.

I decided to blend my background and love for coffee with my father's love of cooking meats. And here we are. 

Bower Cafe is coffee, good food, and community! That simple.

It's been an honor and joy to have made it this far growing the business since opening back in June 2018. We've done art events with KUZU Creative to lift up local artists; we were recognized and mentored by the Circle of Aunts and Uncles ; and, mostly recently, we were selected as part of 2019's Best of Philly list!

But: in order to get to next stage, we will need help raising funds in order to achieve our goals! We need help from our community to make some much-needed improvements to our nest.

So, we're inviting you—our Bower Cafe supporters—to help us achieve our goals! We need to raise $5,500 to purchase some new equipment and to rehab our shop. Your contributions will help us build new shelving, redo the floors, and replace some of our old kitchen equipment. Making these improvements will create a smoother flow for our employees and launch us toward some exciting 2020 happenings. We will be hosting charcuterie evenings once-a-week that will include BYOB! In addition, we will be offering our space for events on EventBrite.
