The Roar Supporters Federation and Fair Funding for Football are teaming up to push for Perry Park. We are looking to raise money to send 5000 signed post cards to the Premier of Queensland about the need for a second stadium in Brisbane. Your donation will directly enable that.

Suncorp Stadium is over congested with events and now looks more like a concert venue than a sports stadium. Concerts and events have, once again, led to the forced relocation of a Brisbane Roar match scheduled there for February 28th. That match has now been moved to Redcliffe.

Suncorp is also far too big for the majority of sporting events held there. However, there are no alternative modern venues available. Located just 100 metres from Bowen Hills train station, Perry Park would be the perfect second stadium.

We’re campaigning to remind the Queensland Government of their promise to upgrade Perry Park, a location that could be used to host Olympic Football in 2032 and serve as a real Olympic Legacy for the World’s game.

An upgraded Perry Park could serve as a Home for Football in Brisbane, servicing A-League Men and Women’s clubs, grassroots competition, smaller international fixtures, marquee Football Queensland events and much more. It could also more generally serve as a home for Women’s Sport in Brisbane – helping to grow their games in a professional environment. Finally, it could revitalise the area around Bowen Hills train station and help turn it into a new entertainment area for Brisbane.

We plan to be outside the gates of Kayo Stadium in Redcliffe on February 28, handing out and collecting these postcards to deliver to the Premier.
