Bourbon Street Shutdown

Donation protected
I'm a professional musician on Bourbon street in New Orleans. I play at the Bourbon Bandstand 5 days a week.  I have entertained visitors there for 20 years.

Because of the current Covid-19 outbreak, our governor and mayor decided to essentially shut down Bourbon street for a minimum period of 8 weeks or longer for the abundance of safety and compliance to the social distancing mandate.

As of now, there is no guarantee I'll be back at work after 8 weeks. It could run much longer if the pandemic does not slow down. I can't collect state unemployment benefits because I am a contract worker or gig worker. U.I. benefits are only for W2 workers.... I'm a 1099 employee which disqualifies me for unemployment insurance benefits.

In the mean time, bills have to be paid. Mortgage, insurance, utilities, groceries....etc. I have a growing 12 year old son who depends on me. All of this can't be done without income or even any kind of government assistance. I am willing to dive into the job market just up keep working. However, with the total shut down of my city, the job market is currently non existent.

It pains me to ask for assistance but I have no choice. I'm faced with selling off equipment to pay bills. Any help would be greatly appreciated. You all may have seen me if you've ever been to Bourbon street. I am a hard working musician and will continue to do so when I'm back.

Thank you in advance!
