The first Sikhs in Britain arrived with nothing, and their story was almost lost forever. We made Bound for Britain so it never disappears.
The film is finished. Now we want the whole of Britain to see it, starting with a landmark premiere in Leicester Square.
The tour costs £105,000. We have secured £60,000.
We need your help to raise the final £45,000.
Stories survive because people choose to carry them forward. If British Sikh history matters to you, help carry it forward.
My name is Azadvir Singh. I am the director of Bound for Britain, and I have told Sikh stories on screen for years. My work includes the award-winning Sikh Musical Heritage on Amazon Prime, and Battle of Amritsar, which sold out screenings across the UK, USA and Canada. Now Bound for Britain has won an Award of Excellence from the Impact Docs Awards too.
A film online is easy to scroll past. A cinema makes people stop and sit together. Families watch it side by side. Grandparents sit beside grandchildren. The talking starts the moment the lights come up.
Cinemas need booking now. The tour runs from January to March 2027, and every date depends on funding landing before then. Waiting means fewer cities and fewer people who get to see it.
Your donation pays for cinema hire, marketing and the tour itself. It turns into real moments. A family sits down together. A young Sikh sees part of their story. An elder remembers a life once lived. Then the film moves to the next city, and it happens again.

HERE'S WHY THIS STORY MATTERS
Many of us grow up knowing that our parents or grandparents came to Britain. We know the broad story. But we may never hear what those first years felt like. Where did people live? How did they find work?
Where did they pray?
What happened when Britain asked them to change who they were?
Bound for Britain asks those questions.
It puts names and faces back into the story.
Because history means more when we can see the people who lived it.

THE TOUR BEGINS IN LEICESTER SQUARE
From January to March 2027, we plan to screen Bound for Britain in cinemas across the UK.
The tour starts with a landmark premiere in Leicester Square.
The premiere includes a live Q&A with the director and film contributors. Each tour screening ends with a Q&A with the director.

WHY TAKE THE FILM TO CINEMAS?
We can put a film online. That is easy. But this story asks for more. The cinema turns watching into a shared act. People sit together in one room. They see the same faces and hear the same words.
Families watch this story together. Grandparents sit beside grandchildren. People hear parts of their history for the first time.
We have watched this happen with our other films. Questions come first. Family stories follow. People call their parents and tell friends. The film ends. The sharing does not.
That is why we are taking Bound for Britain on the road.

THE FILM IS READY. NOW WE NEED TO FUND THE TOUR
The full tour costs £105,000. We have secured £60,000. That leaves a funding gap of £45,000. Our GoFundMe goal is to raise that final £45,000 and make the full UK tour possible.
Your donation helps pay for:
- cinema hire across the UK
- marketing and PR
- special audience memorabilia
- tour costs

YOU CAN HELP DECIDE HOW FAR THIS STORY TRAVELS
Each donation helps move the film from one screen to another.
You may give £25. Or £50. Or £500.
The amount is your choice. The act is the same.
You are helping place this history in front of people who may never have seen it before.
You are saying that this story is worth carrying forward.

PEOPLE LIKE US CARRY STORIES LIKE THIS FORWARD
A story can disappear in one generation. It can also travel through many. That choice belongs to us.
If British Sikh history matters to you, help us put it on the big screen.
