Bouncing Back with Jim And Kathryn

Donation protected
Jim has spent the last 30 years working as a carpenter not just building houses, but crafting spaces with heart, soul, and vision. If you’ve ever seen his work, you know it’s not just about wood and nails. His designs are unique, thoughtful, and full of character, just like him. He’s not just hired as just a contractor for odds and ends. People trust him as a designer, a craftsman, and most of all, as a person.

For 17 years, he’s poured every ounce of himself into keeping our family home on the lake. It’s where we gather for birthdays, holidays, and life’s biggest moments. That house is more than property, it’s a place full of laughter, love, and memories that have shaped who we are as a family.

Anyone who knows him knows how generous he is. He’s the kind of man who will give you the shirt off his back without a second thought. He’s always smiling, always helping, and always putting others first. He’s hilarious, hardworking, and deeply kind. These are the kinds of people we should protect. The type of person you don’t come across often.

Throughout all of this, his wife Kathryn has been by his side, doing everything she can to support him and hold things together. She works long, demanding shifts as a registered nurse who cares for elderly patients, caring for others with the same selflessness she brings home. Due to the financial stress they’re under, she recently had to give up the car she was paying on in order to help save their home. As a result, they’re now without a reliable vehicle, and they’ll need to purchase a used car soon with very little to put toward it. Despite everything, Kathryn continues to show up, give her all, and do whatever she can to help keep their lives from falling apart.

This all comes after a string of heartbreaks and setbacks over the past year. Kathryn and Jim’s dog named Huck, less than a year old, was hit by a car, which we all know is just gut wrenching sadness.

Jim was also out of work for two months while caring for his mother Marlis Tillie Kilboy as she was dying. She passed away on February 20th at 91 years old and just as he seemed to be bouncing back and finding his footing again, this injury happened.

I’m here because recently, while on the job, he fell off a ladder and tore a muscle in his shoulder. He’ll be out of work for about 8 weeks, and for someone who works with his hands every day, that’s devastating. He’s worried about how to stay afloat during this recovery, and the last thing any of us want is for him to risk losing the home he’s fought so hard to keep.

I’m asking, from the bottom of my heart, for your help. Not just to cover bills while he heals but to help him get AHEAD for once. He deserves that. He’s helped so many people without asking for anything in return. Now, I want to show him that same love and support.

If you can give anything, no matter how small, thank you. If you can’t donate, please consider sharing this page. Every gesture helps.

Let’s make sure he can come back strong and come home to the place he changed and maintained for all of us.
