Rather than ask you to do stupid things that will endanger your health and sanity we invite you to live vicariously through us as we attempt to complete a gruelling marathon in the jungle of Borneo, running on thick sand to raise vital funds for our critically endangered Orangutans. To add insult to the almost definite injuries we will endure, Matt will also run the route dressed in an Orangutan Onesie made of the most breathable material on the planet….Polyester (sarcasm intended), whilst Niamh attempts her first 26.2 mile (42km) run, a year after a major back-operation and cancer diagnosis, both of us battling in oppressive 32-degree heat and 100% humidity!

Why are we attempting such an abhorrent and arduous event? Well, for two seasons now we have worked tirelessly to conserve and rehabilitate critically endangered Orangutans who have suffered all manner of atrocities at the hands of our fellow man, ranging from imprisonment and rape through to shooting and blinding. Some of the non-releasable Orangutans at the facility would hugely benefit from improvements to their existing enclosures to enrich their lives and reduce the stress attributed to captivity. Our hope us to raise funds to purchase and then craft 20, durable hammocks for these enclosures.
