Boulder family needs help

Donation protected
Hello friends. Maria and her family are friends of ours and they are going through the kind of time we all fear. While in Mexico recently, visiting Maria's elderly father, Maria's son Luis was in a car accident that was severe enough to require the amputation of his left arm below the shoulder. A nightmare for any family, and harder when Luis is a 17 year-old who loves to play football for Boulder High more than anything. Complicating the injury further is the fact that Maria's is an immigrant family without the money to absorb the medical bills and work/life dislocations that come from such an event.

One lovely piece, though, is that, while still in the hospital, Luis gathered his younger siblings around him to tell them that they may not ever get into a car with a drunk driver, because look at what can happen... (the driver in the accident - not Luis - had been drinking).

Ryan and I care a lot for this family and we hope you'll put some money into the pot to help them through. We'll start the giving with $500 from us.

Love to you all, and thank you in advance for whatever help you can provide.
