Help Both of Our Parents Fight Cancer
Donation protected
My family is in deep trouble, in July of 2023 our mom Melissa Burg (48 at the time) got diagnosed with colorectal cancer and has been battling it since. On April 28th of this year our dad George Galbavy who's 53 got diagnosed with a rare and extremely aggressive small cell neuroendocrine cancer of the esophagus. It has already been so hard with our mom having cancer and to hear that our dad now has cancer too was absolutely gut wrenching. I went to the appointment with him, I saw my dad's world shatter as the doctor told us the news and talked to him about time not being on our side and needing to look at every avenue we can. The whole family has been thrown into a nightmare, a cycle of: no sleep, racing thoughts, not knowing how to put words down for a gofundme, crying, puking, worrying, and more worrying. Trying to get used to this new reality of both parents having cancer is nearly impossible for me and my siblings. For us, it seems like the world is getting darker and darker, but we are desperately trying to hold onto hope and pray every day for more time. My name is Kati 26yrs and I'm writing this with my siblings (Jenni Galbavy 25yrs and Jimmy Burg 14yrs).
We want our parents to be here for more birthdays, graduations, weddings, and, one day, grandbabies. We want our little brother Jimmy - who's just 14 - to keep growing up with both his mom and his best buddy, George. They're inseparable - best friends who do everything together. Whether it's creating music together, playing games together, or simply being present, our dad George always shows up for our little brother Jimmy (and has always showed up for us) He hasn't missed a single one of Jimmy's football games or practices or school performances! Wherever George is, Jimmy wants to be too!
Please help us help our parents. We want them to be with us, every donation, every share, every kind word, and every prayer - it all brings us closer to more time and more hope. Thank you so much, anything helps us. All proceeds will go towards any and everything that has to deal with our parents' treatments.
I will periodically update this post with more details, but I really wanted to get this up today!
