On February 10th, a Calaveras River canal on Pezzi Rd overwhelmed by runoff water unexpectedly overflowed and caused major damage to their home and property.
It is a very hard and humbling experience to reach out to others for financial assistance, but they have no flood insurance and the cost is truly way more than they can afford. Anyone who knows them, know that they have never taken anything from anyone in their life but are the first to help anyone in need. There have been so many people asking what they can do to help, that I realized this is when a lot of people coming together, even if it is a little, will help SO MUCH! I really want them to know that they are loved and they are not in this alone.
As of right now just for starters, they are going to have to have a new hole dug for their well which will cost approximately $14,000.00. (waiting on final estimates) There is so much other damage that has not even been properly assessed yet as to the underground pipes that are packed with mud, swimming pool and deck. Also the walls, flooring, furniture and appliances, etc.
I just pray that if you feel it in your heart, you would help me, help them.. Please share this so that together, we can help them carry this load.
On a personal note about Sherri & Jaime, last year her position with AT&T after 35 years was eliminated. She always maintains a good attitude but the truth is her income suddenly dropped more than half. Jaime is in demolition construction and has had alot of medical issues with his back and needed to retire in the next year or so. With no flood assistance whatsoever, this is catastrophic to their income and future.
They will be forever grateful for any assistance.
