My name is Cara, and I’m excited to share my dream of opening Boston’s very first dirty soda shop. As I get older, I’ve realized how important it is to create something meaningful for myself and my community. I want to be my own boss, bring a sense of fun, nostalgia, and togetherness to Boston with a place where people can gather, try something new, and make memories.

This journey is deeply personal for me. I’m a single Gen X mom and a former educator, and after years of putting others first, I’m ready to take a leap and build something of my own. Without a retirement plan and with my creativity feeling stifled, I see this shop as a way to not only support myself but also to leave a positive mark on my community and something lasting for my son.

The funds I raise will go directly toward building the shop’s infrastructure, purchasing an ice machine and POS system, stocking up on inventory, advertising, and hiring employees. Every bit of support; whether it’s a donation, words of encouragement, or sharing my story brings me closer to making this dream a reality.
