Boston Police Runners Club & Thumbs up for Declan

Hi everyone!

I am excited to share that I have been selected to run the 128 Boston Marathon this April 2024 by the Boston Police Runners Club. Growing up in a family of Law enforcement, Firefighters, and Nurses has made me consider running for this charity to show my support for the Boston Police Runners Club.

Running the Boston Marathon has always been a dream of mine, especially because its fundraising supports so many local families and charities. Although this will be my first marathon ever, I have run many 5ks and recently completed my first half marathon in North Conway

The Boston Police Runners Club organization has helped numerous causes throughout the year. Below are some of the charities the money will go towards:

Boston Police Widows and Children Fund, the 100 Club of Massachusetts, Cops 4 Kids with Cancer, Boston Police Activities League, The Mark Carbonnier & Ricky Dever Memorial Foundation, Smart from the Start, Kaitlyn Keaney Fund, House of Possibilities, 1st Lt, Derek Hines Soldiers Assistance Fund, Dana-Fabar Cancer Institute, Brain Aneurysm Foundation, Journey to Parenthood, Sergeant Santa Toy Drive, and Boston Police Health and Fitness Initiatives.

Additionally, some funds raised will be allocated to research to find a cure for brain cancer, as well as to the Lyon’s Family. I got to know Bobby Lyons working at Waltham Public Schools where I am a High School Math teacher. Hearing the news this past fall about his 3-year-old son being diagnosed with brain cancer broke my heart. No child or person should suffer from cancer.

Knowing that I am running for amazing causes has helped me focus and gain motivation to complete a dream I have always thought of. I thank you for your consideration and support as I train and complete the 2024 Boston Marathon.
