Boston Poetry Marathon 2022 Fundraiser!

It’s summer, which means it's...BOSTON POETRY MARATHON time again! And this year we are having a hybrid event: Saturday and Sunday will be IN PERSON at the Community Church of Boston in Copley Square; Friday night will be online. The entire event will be broadcast to our Facebook Live and YouTube Live channels.

***Proceeds from our fundraiser this year will go to organizations that promote reproductive justice and abortion access!!!***

We are so excited to announce that the proceeds from our fundraiser will go to Eastern Massachusetts Abortion Fund and to The Womxn Project. Anything we raise beyond our operating costs will be donated to these local worthy non-profits. 

Admission to the Boston Poetry Marathon is free, but a $10 minimum donation is recommended. However, donations in any amount are very much appreciated!

About Eastern Massachusetts Abortion Fund

The Eastern Massachusetts Abortion (EMA) Fund is your local abortion fund that works to ensure that all people living in or traveling to eastern Massachusetts have access to abortion. 

Access to abortion is a matter of social justice, reproductive justice, economic justice, fairness, and human rights.

The EMA Fund provides people with funding and practical support to access abortion care. They help them get onto MassHealth quickly or find doctors that will take their insurance. They negotiate with abortion providers, and pay for callers’ bus or train tickets, car rides, hotels, childcare, and translation services.

They focus on our Eastern Massachusetts community but recognize that the work they do has a ripple effect that furthers the larger movement for reproductive justice.

About the Boston Poetry Marathon—Back again! Live and virtual!

 

The Boston Poetry Marathon is a Poetry Festival in which 100+ poets read their work throughout an entire weekend.

 

The festival has occurred for over 20 years (with a few breaks here and there). Readers come from far away or just down the street. The festival is open to the public. The event is free, but donations are welcome and appreciated.

 

It's a great time of year to wrangle a bunch of poets and their friends and admirers together to celebrate poetry! We invite diversity from our readers and audience: in voices, identities, and narratives. We have a lot of fun. We listen to lots of poems. We hang out and have a great time!

This year, we will hold our event on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, August 5, 6 and 7!

 

Friday will be all virtual only! Saturday and Sunday will be IN-PERSON (finally)! The entire event will be broadcast through our social media channels, so that everyone can watch and listen, face-to-face or online.
