My name is Ayane White. I am a 16-year-old junior attending Holbrook-Middle High School, and I am currently working towards earning my Eagle Scout rank. I have been in scouting since 2019 and am a founding member of Troop 13 out of Holbrook/Avon. I have held leadership roles in scouts as the troop's senior patrol leader, in school through the National Honor Society, in sports, and as a lifeguard at Higashi.
Eagle Scout is the final rank in the Scouting of America program and is highly renowned as only 4% of all scouts in the program achieve this milestone. In order to earn this rank, I need to complete a service project to benefit the community and lead a group of people while executing the project.
For my project, I have decided to construct six 8-foot-long cedar picnic tables for the Boston Higashi School Emergence Program. The Boston Higashi School is a unique school in the Randolph/Holbrook area that educates students with autism from 3 to 22 years of age using Daily Life Therapy, a methodology from Japan. The Emergence Program is the final stage in the students' education where they learn vocational skills that they will use post-22 years of age in the community. The tables will be an addition to the Green Space Area, an outdoor learning environment at the campus in Holbrook. The tables will be for each class and provide seating for every student so they have adequate room and working space for various projects. My goal is to have the project completed before the summer.
In order to complete this project, on behalf of solely the beneficiary, I must raise funds for all the materials needed. With this being said, I am asking for some assistance with funding this project. I am looking to earn 3,500 dollars to cover the cost of the entire project. I have reached out to other groups as well and am grateful for any funds or services that you can provide so that I can reach my goal.
Sincerely,
Ayane White
