Boston Animal Care and Control, Boston Marathon

Hi, my name is Alexis Keough-Holst and I am running the 2023 Boston marathon to raise money for the Boston Animal Care and Control. Each year, the City of Boston Shelter takes in hundreds of animals that are picked up as stray, abandoned by their owners, court ordered to be held as part of legal proceedings, or are rescued from unfit homes. They care for these animals, providing a warm bed, medical treatment, play & enrichment, and a safe place to stay until they can either be reunited with their owners, or adopted to a new, loving home either directly through us, or through one of our many partner rescue organizations. Not only do they help family pets they also assist with urban wild life, raccoons, birds, skunks and other animals who find themselves in places they don’t belong or need assistance from humans. If you know me I have always been passionate about animals and raising money for local shelters. Costs of medical and housing for these animals is not free and that’s why our goal is to raise $5,000 for the shelter! Any amount makes a difference. Thank you!
