For the past 5 years Jamie & I have gotten submersed into the Recovery Community. For those of you who do not know, we are recovering addicts. Jamie with 19 years, and I have 17 years clean & sober. We suffered a tragic loss with our 1st son, Christopher that took us down a deep dark rabbit hole of addiction. We’ve always had a heart for the broken hearted, and as far back as I can remember we have always housed someone to help them get back on their feet, usually always following a traumatic event or abuse in their lives, so we are empathetic. 5 years we lost several people to mental health & addiction. This was the last straw, we are sick and tired of losing people. The disease of addiction is cunning and baffling, it comes like a thief in the night to steal, kill, and destroy. We started hitting the streets ministering to the lost and forgotten addicts, and if they had the true desire to get clean, we offered them help to get detoxed, then help into a treatment center, then a bed in our home to learn how to live clean & sober. We very quickly realized that this was a ministry and that God was going to use us to reach many suffering addicts. It all started with us housing 8 suffering people in our own home, and then we bought a 2nd home, then a 3rd, then a 4th. Today and for the past year we have a serious need in our area to help house women with their children, and today we have the desire to purchase a 5th home for women with children. Join the fight.
