Hello dear people,
we found Bossy last year in the forest in the mud together with other 11 cats. We took her and her sister with us and the others also got a warm loving home.
Bossy had a pretty rough start in life. She was tested positive on panleucopenia but it got treated. After a certain time, she started to feel bad. We went to the vet and did a lot of tests for nothing. Then we changed the vet and did again a bunch of tests. We did x-ray, ultrasound, blood tests every month and many more that I forgot for sure to mention.
the vet was over 3-4 months sure it was something with the intestines and some form of malabsorption. So she gave Bossy gastro diet, as she couldn’t eat normal kitten food without having diarrhea or vomiting. Also she got prednisolone to give her some appetite and feel better. We had to give her around 3 months prednison, which is a very very high time giving corticosteroids.
Last month we did an ultrasound and spleen, limphnodes and intestines were found big in size. The vet said it’s either IBD or lymphoma. For a biopsy she was way too fragile as her weight was 1.67kg with 8 months.
since march until today we spent around 2.500€-3.000€ just on tests, medicine, food and injections.
2 weeks ago (25.06, in her birthday when she became 9 months old), Bossy suddenly stopped eating and drinking. She lost in 3 days almost over 200g so I brought her for emergency infusion for 6 hours (first posted picture). The next day when we went back for checking how she’s doing, we made another ultrasound and some fluid was found in the abdomen, white gums and mouth and 36C temperature. The vet said she doesn’t has more than a month.
In desperate situation, I did a Reddit post and got a lot of feedback. I talked with many people and other vets that saw the post. Almost all of them redirected me to a FIP group, as it looks like it. I contacted the group and sent over the blood tests and all I have. With the over the months constantly falling A/G ratio and other data, pretty all were sure it’s FIP.
The next day (27.06), we found where to start asap with the treatment for Bossy and gave the first injection. In the evening, I saw first positive reactions to the medicine and a change in her behavior, appetite and power.
Since than, we see every day positive changes. Now, she is almost 1.9kg, she plays a lot with her sister, eats a lot, is curious about everything, wants to be cuddled and all things a happy kitten should do.
Why am I writing this post here?
I had a pretty bad year and have no money left at all after I pay rent and the bills. I have just money for buying them some food and that’s pretty it. Even for me it’s just economy eating, as I want to put every euro that I have for Bossys treatment. This month I tried to borrow some money from family but couldn’t make for more than one more dose of vaccine. I have still medicine for a couple days maybe a week, but I need to buy pills for her to be able to continue her treatment. We are today on day 14 of 84 and I’m afraid I cannot afford to continue the treatment. I’m afraid of not being able to save her life.
I hate asking for money. For myself I would never do it, but this is not for me, it’s for her.
If you want to help us, you don’t need to spend a lot, every single euro counts.
Thank you, and I appreciate you for taking time to read Bossys story and pray for her to be healthy again soon. She’s a strong soul who wants to live and is fighting for it!
