The Business of Sports School (BOSS) is a public high school in NYC for students interested in sports business. Students commute from all 5 boroughs and most live in low-income and/or high-risk communities. Real-life challenges and skills are integrated into every subject area, so that BOSS seniors graduate with a Regents diploma, a CTE endorsement in Entrepreneurship, first-hand experience working with professionals in the sports industry, and the ability to handle college-level coursework in each academic area.
We will be participating in a 4-on-4 basketball tournament to raise money for the Mark Giles Scholarship Fund which is awarded to BOSS seniors at graduation. Mark Giles, a senior editor at ESPN The Magazine, helped found BOSS in 2009. Sadly, he passed away in January 2011, but his commitment to creating an innovative business-focused high school lives on through the Mark Giles Scholarship Fund.
We are looking to raise $2,000 before the tournament on May 3rd- thank you for your support of this great event and our school.
