SYNOPSIS
Liam, a thirty year old openly proud gay man, is on top of the world. He has been working at his dream job in inner Melbourne. Until his worst nightmare comes true, his new manager is his former high school bully.
This comedy drama dives into the weird and humiliating memories of Liam's past as he seeks closure with a boss who hasn't changed. A dimwitted idiot who still torments Liam through the form of
nostalgic jokes. As tension rise, Liam is faced with a choice. Will he find satisfaction in turning the tables and dishing out the humiliation, or does this make him worse than his bully?
WHY THIS FILM
At its core, the film explores themes of identity, humiliation, and power. Asking what happens when your teenage tormentor suddenly controls your dream career. Blending corporate satire with emotional depth, the story examines how we carry past trauma into adulthood and whether revenge truly restores power or simply repeats the cycle. Liam’s mission isn't just about payback; it’s about reclaiming control from the psychological grip his former bully still holds. But when long-buried truths about Ryan’s own repression resurfaces, the narrative shifts. The film challenges audiences to reconsider blame, masculinity, and unresolved shame.
Boss bully is a story that resonates with me personally, as someone who has experienced bullying in school and is a part of the LGBTQ+ community, I wanted to explore how those early experiences can continue to shape confidence and identity in adulthood. I want ‘Boss bully’, and its characters and storyline to make our audiences laugh and to inspire them to be unapologetically themselves.

Every contribution directly supports the film’s completion.
We believe stories grow stronger when they are supported by a community that believes in them.
