Bosnian Special Olympics

PLEASE SUPPORT SPECIAL OLYMPICS ATHLETES OF BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA AT THE 2017 WINTER OLYMPICS IN AUSTRIA 

Every athlete's dream is to participate in the Olympics and athletes with special needs are no different. Over the past several years, Bosnian athletes with special needs have participated in many international championships, including the 2015 Special Olympics in Los Angeles where they triumphed in many individual events. Unfortunately, the lack of understanding the importance of the Special Olympics in Bosnia and Herzegovina often translates in a struggle to secure funding for this group of athletes to compete abroad.

As a former Olympian myself, who invested years of hard work to compete in the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, it is my desire to see these Special Olympics talents excell in their own ranks at the international events. The lack of money should not stand in the way of them competing after years of hard work.

With my deepest appreciation, I am asking you to help me raise funds for their participation in the Winter Special Olympics in Austria, which will take place from March 14-25. The total cost of their trip is about $73,000. But even a smallest donation will bring them that much closer to reaching their dreams.

PODRŽIMO SPORTISTE SPECIJALNE OLIMPIJADE BOSNE I HERCEGOVINE NA ZIMSKIM OLIMPIJSKIM IGRAMA – AUSTRIJA 2017

San svakog sportiste je da učestvuje na olimpijskim igrama I sportisti sa intelektualnim poteškoćama u tome se ne razlikuju. Kao predstavnici Specijalne Olimpijade, oni imaju priliku da nastupaju na Zimskim olimpijskim igrama koje će se od 14-25 marta održati u  Austriji. Bosna I Hercegovina će imati svoje predstavnike u alpskom skijanju I kros trčanju. Nažalost, u Bosni i Hercegovini još uvijek nije prepoznat značaj sporta za osobe sa invaliditetom i Specijalna olimpijada BiH se svake godine susreće sa problemom obezbjeđivanja sredstava za pripreme I takmičenja.

Kao učesnica Olimpijskih igara u Barceloni želja mi je da svaki sportista bude dio najveće sportske manifestacije. Zato bih Vas zamolila da mi se pridružite I pomognete da obezbijedimo sredstva za naše buduće olimpijce. Ukupni troškovi Projekta Specijalne olimpijade BiH za Zimske olimpijske igre iznose 136000 KM ili oko $73,000. Našim skromnim prilogom mozda cemo doprinijeti I osvajanju medalja.
