Ananda Ghosh Fundraiser -- Bosky Needs a Biopsy

Last week an MRI revealed that Oscar Raymond Ghosh (aka Osky the Bosky, Osky the Bosky Bottoms, Oscar Proboscar) has a tumor in his neck, on the 2nd vertebra. It was compressing his spinal cord by 50-60% , almost completely immobilizing him. The vet indicated that next steps are to perform a biopsy in order to determine if it is malignant, how quickly it will grow, and best course of treatment. During the procedure, they will also remove as much of the tumor as possible. The debulking alone could give Oscar months to a year. The biopsy can help me figure out if the tumor might be responsive to more affordable treatment options, like chemotherapy.

 

The cost of the procedure is $6000. Oscar is currently on a round of corticosteroids and has regained movement along with his zeal for life. Unfortunately, steroids are only a temporary treatment and we will need to look for other options in a month. I'm hoping to raise the funds between now and the beginning of February.
