Bo's Tai Chi Legacy

As you know, our father, brother, friend, teacher, Bo Steele passed away on 7/28/2023. Bo was battling heart disease for many years and he was surrounded by his beloved family when he became one with the force.

Stef and I are raising money (instead of accepting flowers) so that we can help further the legacy he forged with his passion for tai chi. Since the 1990's Bo has taught tai chi at the Gamble Nippert YMCA, Price Hill Recreation Center, Madisonville Library, and other places in Cincinnati. Unsurprisingly, some of the people in his class have been there since Stef and I were children and have moved to new locations with him to continue practicing.

We want to raise money for his class to be used for new tai chi shirts for the current and future students. Additionally, we will use the funds to create more awareness for tai chi classes at the Madisonville library via brochures for new comers, local advertising to drive attendance, and funds for other tai chi group activities that will help continue to make it as fun and memorable as possible.

We think this is one of the best ways that we can honor Bo. Our goal is to participate more in one of the activities that he loved so much and to also help encourage people to join, stay, and continue practicing at the Madisonville Library.

If the goal is exceeded, then we will update you all with how else we spend it to honor Bo. We love and miss him so much, so we want to do something that would mean a lot to him and the people he cared about. Thank you so much.

We are having a memorial service at Lake Isabella in Loveland on 8/13. Please come and help remember Bo. If you come, please dress comfortably as you know that's what he would want at his celebration of life :). We will have food, drinks, and time to share how our lives intertwined with his.

What will we do: Will have time to share our love and stories about Bo. There will be lots of photos to check out. We will have plenty of food and drinks. A tai chi session will happen.
