Hi, my name is Leila, I am currently fundraising to take part in an expedition to the northern part of Borneo in the summer of 2022 for 4 weeks. During this expedition I will be undertaking several projects based around two main themes of Sustainable Social Development and Biodiversity Conservation. I will also be learning about Orangutan conservation and undertaking a PADI open water dive course.

The conservationist projects include:

-- Helping to build facilities for the community such as toilets and water supplies.

-- Studying how to preserve Borneo’s immense biodiversity for instance, native monkeys, elephants, sun bears and orangutans.

-- Establishing and renovating school buildings.

--Replanting the region near our camp with trees and plants.

All funds raised will be used to cover the costs of flights, project costs, travel insurance, food and accommodation for all 4 weeks, language lessons, staff costs, transport and the diving certificate.

I am aiming to raise all £4500 for the trip and I am planning other sponsored activities over the next 18 months such as sponsored walks, coffee mornings and quiz nights as the funds need to be raised by summer 2022. Any additional funds raised will be donated to local Macclesfield charities.
