Hero’s Story

We met Hero on the first day of our second rescue mission in Marrakech. He was lying in the blistering midday sun, surrounded by crowds and yet completely alone. His tiny body was a shell: bones poking through skin, tail crusted with diarrhoea, worms crawling from his body and flies feasting on his open wounds. He was dying in front of everyone and no one stopped.

We couldn’t walk past. We gently lifted him into a box and rushed him to a vet. We hoped for a miracle, but it was too late. Hero was too far gone. The only thing we could offer him was love and a peaceful goodbye. We held his paw, cried over his frail body and made him feel safe in his final moments.

His suffering broke us. But it also lit a fire. Hero’s life had to mean something! That day, Hero’s Legacy was born.

Our Mission: Stop the Suffering Before It Starts. In the streets of Marrakech, kittens are born into hell - sick, starving, alone. Often with no mother around, no medicine and no hope.

Hero’s Legacy is our neutering and medical aid project - a lifeline for Morocco’s forgotten cats. We’re returning to Marrakech in July, and with your help, we’ll deliver even greater impact than before.

Our May Mission: What We Achieved in Just 4 Days:

-Rescued 5 kittens from the streets and got them emergency vet care

-Sterilised 2 female cats, preventing hundreds of future births

-Administered over 60 doses of flea and worm treatment

-Treated countless cats & kittens with FVR (feline coryza), cleaning infected eyes and applying antibiotics

-Fed, treated, cuddled and cared for dozens more, restoring dignity with every touch.

And now, we’re going back - stronger, wiser and ready to do more. But we can’t do it without your support!

How Your Donation Will Be Used (Every Penny Counts!) All funds raised will go directly to our July trip, covering:

-Sterilisation of street cats (£55 per female, £25 per male plus an average of £30 each for hospital stay)

-Emergency vet treatment and medication – especially antibiotic eye and ear drops

-High-quality food to nourish starving cats and kittens

-Safe transport for sick animals to clinics and back

-Flea & worm treatments, daily care and comfort.

We are not a charity (yet!). We’re a grassroots team doing everything from the heart - with no big salaries and full transparency. Every penny goes directly to the animals.
