Landon Born has played NWA Travel Ball for years. For his parents Jessica and Thomas Born, Yesterday was the worst day of their lives to date.
Landon’s biopsy came back and he was diagnosed with T lymphoblastic leukemia. While it is treatable, we are all scared. Treatment started last night with steroids and extra fluids. He will be undergoing anesthesia Monday to have a port placed for chemo, have a bone marrow biopsy, and a spinal fluid biopsy. On Tuesday, he will have a PET scan to see if it is anywhere else in his body. In typical Landon fashion, he is holding up SO WELL.
From his mom, He told me last night that he isn’t scared. We know God has this. Romans 12:12 says “Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.” I’ve been talking to God a lot the last 3 weeks that Landon has been sick; more than I ever have before. We don’t know WHY- but we do know WHO is on our side and is capable of healing him. Thank you to everyone who has been praying for him and us. Please don’t stop. Be constant.
We were told that treatment will last, in total, 2-3 years. The first 6 months will be brutal. He won’t be able to go out to large social events or play baseball. Please pray for his understanding on why.
We will be in Little Rock for a few more days as he starts treatment. After the doctors here are comfortable and confident with how it is going, we will get to go home and continue treatment at ACH in Springdale.
Who can help us raise some money for a local NWA Travel Kid.
