Family of Boris Stepanyuk, beloved son and brother

Hi, my name is Dorinda, and I am fundraising for Boris Stepanyuk's mother and younger brother. We are asking for your help to support his family during an extremely difficult situation.

On Wednesday, April 24, 2024, Boris was tragically killed in a homicide not far from his home. On that fateful day, we lost a son, a brother, a friend, and a beautiful soul to unnecessary violence. Boris will not be here to realize his dreams of becoming a surgeon or attending his younger brother's high school graduation next year. He will be unable to keep his promise of caring for his mom.

As a young student, Boris touched many lives with his generosity, helping youth attend summer camp. Boris was brilliant and worked hard to get into medical school. After graduating from Point Loma Charter School, he graduated from UCSD. Then, he attended the University of Colorado School of Medicine. Boris was funny but reserved and quiet. He loved his family and his dog, a huskie named Mischa. He regularly enjoyed daily sunrise and sunset walks with her through his neighborhood.

The grief and suffering of Boris Stepanyuk's family, particularly his mother and younger brother, cannot be overstated. The loss of a loved one is never easy, but losing a young, brilliant, and promising life to a senseless act of violence is particularly devastating. As a community, we have an opportunity to come together to support Boris’s family during this challenging time.
