Marathon du Médoc for Mind
This September, five of us are taking on the Marathon du Médoc—a unique race through the vineyards of Bordeaux, incorporating fancy dress, a pacing broom wagon, and red wine. Beyond the penguin costumes, drinking, and inevitable pain, we’re running for something much more important. Mental health.
We have chosen to run for Mind, a charity that provides incredible support for those struggling with their mental well-being. The reality is that, whether we knew it at the time or not, we have all known someone who has struggled with their mental health. Often, people can find it difficult to talk about – whether through fear of not being understood, being seen differently, or simply not feeling they’re in a position to open up.
We’re all in our early 20s, a time of big change—whether it’s finishing university, starting a new career, or just trying to figure out what you want from life. We know It can be overwhelming, and we want to do what we can to help those in a similar position who may not have the same support network.
We’re aware that many of you reading this will be in a similar stage of life - money isn’t exactly flowing! But if you can spare just a couple of pounds, it would mean the world to us, and more importantly, it would help continue to support those people who Mind help every day.
We’ll be running, pushing ourselves to the limit, all whilst enjoying a drink - because we believe that life is about challenging yourself, while also making time to enjoy moments with friends, support one another, and lift each other up along the way.
Thank you for reading this far! Please donate if you can, share if you’re willing, and feel free to laugh as we waddle across the line!
