Hi, my name is Deb and our families became

friends through our daughters attending school together since elementary school. A few years back I had set up a meal train for the family (which I’ve been asked to do again, too). I’ve been communicating with Debbie these past few days about her family’s dire needs. For those that don’t know what has been going on, Debbie has been battling multiple types of cancers over the years with dozens of extended hospital stays, surgeries, long recoveries. In recent months, she’s been hospitalized multiple times for having tremendously low potassium that isn’t staying stable which puts in and out of cardiac arrest.

Now, and this is recent, her rock, love of her life, husband (Tom) is on life support, ventilator in ICU for days now with blood clots in lungs, blood sugar out of control and there’s been no change with him for days. Daughter, Kayleigh has just been cleared after battling Covid and has a heart condition of her own-thankfully under control now. Their only son, Jacob has just started college and is away from home. Debbie has shared how Tom is the main source of income for the family and sadly, there isn’t any insurance for him. The enormous amount of medical bills over the years has taken a toll on their financial stability and now they need our help. I asked Debbie if she’d like for me to set up a fund since she’s of course overwhelmed by everything in life right now and she’s very appreciative for any and all future help received through this fund. Please know that Debbie has an incredibly strong faith and there’s no doubt that this same faith has footed her through many of the medical traumas she’s endured already. She is using all of this faith to keep her family together, out of hospitals and once again at home. Kayleigh is being cared for by grandparent and knows that our family will be her backup for anything. The emotional, physical stress is very trying on their family and using Debbie’s words, “I have nothing left to give or strength to offer, just my faith in God, prayers to trust in His plan.”

Please, please if you can help this loving family financially as literally daily it’s running into thousands and thousands of dollars. Every dollar counts and will be used for every electrical/utilities, rent, food, medical expenses. I’ve set the amount as it is, but realistically they will be needing much more as time goes on. Debbie cannot work due to her health. God only knows about her dear husband, Tom. Let us all reach deep and help the Borchert family. I can update this regarding their health as Debbie gives me updates. All prayers, positive thoughts and help is greatly needed, appreciated by the family.
