Hi my name is Mack Pattee. Last year, me and my friend Tommy were really lucky and got to do an internship in Kenya last summer, working for a rhino and elephant conservation initiative and focusing on ways to support these amazing but endangered animals. We got to spend a lot of time with the Rangers who work 24 hours a day to keep these animals safe. Their dedication and hard work is amazing – but we realized that they need basic outdoor gear to help them do their jobs. So, Tommy and I made a promise to ourselves to return and bring basic camping supplies that these Ranges badly need. So far, Tommy and I have raised about $1000 from part-time jobs and other work. We are planning on going to the Borana Conservancy in Kenya in June. So we are expanding our efforts to raise more money for these wildlife rangers who protect local communities and the enviornment. The Rangers tell us that what they really need is good socks, sleeping pads, and water packs. Basic stuff that we can get, but really hard to get themselves in remote Africa. So our goal is to bring these items with us when we travel there and give them directly to the Rangers. It has always been a challenge for the rangers to get good, new gear but now we have an opportunity to make a helpful impact on them.
We are asking friends to support this effort with a donation of any size. Socks and water packs aren’t that expensive here in the US, but they are worth a lot to the people on the ground who are working every day to save these wild animals from poachers.
We hope that you can help! THANKS
