Bopegan Farm Tornado Recovery
On September 1, 2021, an EF2 tornado barreled through Fort Washington, PA leaving a path of destruction behind it. Taking a direct hit along with the elementary school, the township building, and the high school, was Bopegan Farm.
This multi-generational horse farm has been providing lessons and contributing to this community and beyond for over 100 years. Melissa Gordon and her family have been working night and day to remove debris, cut tree limbs, repair fencing, etc., all while continuing to care for the horses. Even with community volunteers pitching in, clean-up and recovery is going to take a long time. For safety reasons, Bopegan is unable to hold riding lessons and the financial burden of recovery, and loss of income continue to increase each day.
The goal is for this GoFundMe to help ease the financial burdens of caring for the horses without their main income stream and give Melissa and her family a chance to rebuild. Any amount you can donate is greatly appreciated and will go directly to Bopegan Farm! #UDStrong
