Our family is fundraising to support some of the many people who have recently arrived to Denver, mostly from Venezuela.

Similar to what we did last year, we have decided to focus our current effort on providing proper footwear for the cold weather to as many people as possible. Winter and work boots seem to be one of the items in highest demand. If you know of someone in need of boots, you can add their names to this document. We will donate additional boots to the "closet" at Park Church in Denver.

If you're interested in helping out, you can either donate money and we will use it to purchase boots such as these or these , or you can purchase a pair directly. If you choose the second option, you are welcome to send them to our house and we'll distribute them.

Here are some other options for offering support:

1. Read about city's efforts and opportunities here .

2. Donate high-need items (e.g., winter clothing, suitcases, etc.) and/or volunteer at the "closet" at Park Church. There's a local effort and signup sheet run by volunteers.

3. Sign up (alone or with others) to help provide food at one of the shelters. There's more information about how to do this (and ways to contribute financially) in this google doc , organized and run by my friend and neighbor, Rajni Posner.
