I’m Royce. My son and I have opened an automotive shop and are starting from the ground up. We rented a building and already had basic tools as we’ve worked on cars all our lives. We are in our first year, and we have been hosting events to raise money for other people, to help bring business to us. We’ve raised money for two paralyzed people, a cancer victim's family, and a house fire victim. We don’t charge combat veterans a dime, and it has helped us grow in our small community. We’ve built a local following by helping others. But we still need A LOT of stuff, more than we can handle any time soon. We need lots of diagnostic tools, and we need capital for building overhead like rent, power, insurance, etc. Although we can grind away and chip away at it, and that’s the plan, when I saw a GoFundMe ad that said this is perfect for this kind of thing, I thought I’d try it. I know there are more serious issues out there like medical issues people need money for. That’s why I’d normally not start a GoFundMe for shop-related stuff. But after reading testimonials of people who like to help out people like us, I thought I’d give it a shot. Especially since we use the business parking lot to have car shows and other events to raise money for others. I know that no one local can help us. Small towns in Alabama don’t have anybody with extra money to give to things like this. But maybe GoFundMe will place this in front of people elsewhere who do have extra money to help small businesses like us. Who knows. All that can happen is nothing. But if for some reason someone does donate, hey, we really appreciate it. We will use it to help others and build this auto business bigger and bigger. It’s just me and my son, and we are having a good time doing this. We love working on cars and helping others. Maybe someone sees us and wants to help make it grow! Thanks.
