Boost Kids' Lives with Wheelchair Fixes

Happy Holidays everyone! It's the Season of Giving! My name is Hernan Picalomino and I am a Shriner, and the Shriners Hospital for Children holds dear to me. This Season of Giving, I am raising $10,000 toward the Wheelchair and Seating Program.

If funds were raised, Shriners Children’s Philadelphia would be able to assist more children in acquiring necessary repairs to their wheelchairs. This increase in general medical care will greatly benefit the patients we treat by expanding the available continuum of care and improving the quality of life for children and adolescents. The following describes the challenges faced when a child’s wheelchair is not functioning properly.

Sharing some of the cost of the program:

Pressure relieving seat cushions - $400.00/cushion

Replacement back cushions or grow chairs - $275.00/cushion

Growth kit to make the chair wider - $150.00/kit

Sets of batteries (2 needed per chair) - $250.00/chair
