To say that I’m absolutely devastated in an under statement....so Petplan have written to me to inform me that they have declined Boo’s claim for the Diaphragmatic Hernia (see attached letters) they are saying it was a pre existing condition.... I have put a formal complaint in and I’m going to do my best to fight them.... how can they do this?
I’m heart broken, we were literally about 2 weeks away from getting Boo’s hip done. She has been through so much, my baby deserves to run about like a normal dog, she is going crazy being isolated from the big wide world.
As you all know we have been fundraising and I’ve set a GoFundMe page set up to raise money to get her hip replacement done and pay the additional £3,000 for the diaphragmatic hernia operation (plus £3000 which I thought Petplan were paying).
The target of £10,000 would have covered everything, but now Petplan have declined the claim, we are now £3000 short .
I have had to pay the bill for Northwest Surgeons.
Please can you all keep sharing, we were so close to being there and now it’s all been ripped away from her... we need to now raise £13,000.
There is massive love and support surrounding my Boo.

Boo’s Story - Where it all started
So I’ve had to increase the amount we need to raise... Boo’s recent surgery cost just under £6,000 (£3,000 was covered by insurance) She needs to recover from this operation and will then need her hip replacement which will cost £7,000 and insurance will not cover her for that at all
Every now and then an animal touches your heart.....
Boo was cruelty dumped aged around 16 months after being used to breed from. She was skeletal and had about 48 hours to live.
Whilst running scared she was hit by a car in between Liverpool and bickerstaffe and we genuinely feared she would die. She weighed just 23kg (She should have weighed around 55kg)
She was nursed back to health by the lovely Carla Lane Animals In Need and
I became her forever mum on the 4th April and took her on and I have cherished her ever since.
On the 19th June, I thought I was going to lose her... Her breathing was funny so I took her the vets, they kept her in to run some tests and called me in the afternoon to say they had removed 3 litres of fluid from her chest ... all signs pointing towards heart failure .... so she was referred to Northwest Veterinary Specialists for further investigation......good news is it’s not her heart, however she’s got a diaphragmatic hernia, diaphragm Rupture and her liver and gall bladder are currently sitting in her chest. They took her straight down to theatre and thankfully she’s doing well... they have had to remove some of her liver and some lung & liver lobes... they had to open up her chest and cut through her sternum to sort out all of he mess so although she is out of surgery she is critical for the next 48 hours. I told the vet he doesn’t know my Boo and that she will be up and about tomorrow .... she will need to stay in for observations.
Although Boo is insured they will only cover up to £3,000 for her treatment, I’ve had a bill of £5,800 for the above operation..... We also now know she will require a full hip replacement and although she is insured, my claim was rejected and Surgery will cost around £5,000.
Boo shows nothing but kindness, love and trust despite the horrific start she's had in her short life
I took Boo on and was unaware of what problems were ahead and I wouldn’t change a thing..... i will find a way as my Boo deserves only the best.

The pain Boo must have been in for all these weeks with these injuries doesn’t bare thinking about yet she soldiered on and showed no signs of discomfort, all she has to give in love, affection and kisses.
After everything Boo has been through she deserves the very best so I’ve set up this go fund me page help pay for her operations.
I need to add that any money raised on here will fund whatever operation Boo needs and the remaining money will be donated to Carla Lane for the Brighter lives campaign for the New kennels.
