Every now and then life hits you with road blocks. Some small and some drastically big. I find this very hard to write because I am very iffy about these pages.. BUT I’ve seen such good come from them I figured why not give it a try.
Since I was a little girl, Boopsie aka Uncle Frank, has been a role model to me. He is the epiphany of a hard working father who would do anything for his children (yes, I am his 3rd child --- the Kimmy Gibbler of the family). If you know Boopsie you know the type of man he is – sweet, funny, and genuine. You also probably remember his voice.
If you didnt, just picture a mixture of Billy Joel and Jesus. I mean really! His voice was so amazing it would give you pure goosebumps every single note. People from all over Roxborough would come to see him play at the famous Cassellis (we miss you) as well as other local resturants. They would cheer, sing, and most importantly to Uncle Frank, smile.
In 2009, Boopsie was diagnosed with a rare voice dysfunction called Spasmodic Dysphonia which resulted in him not only losing his singing voice but his unforgetable deep raspy voice that is still so vivid in my mind. It's kind of crazy if you think about it; this man made a living off of his passion. Hs passion was his voice. With a minimal array of doctors who specialized in this rare disorder, Boopsie went to counltess appointments in hopes for an answer. These many test and injects sadly resulted in no progress and no answers.
As testing began to increase Boopsie was hit with even more devastating news. He found out that his heart was having many complications. While the two may or may not have a connection, the doctors told him surgery was a must. In about a month he will be entering open heart surgery. Being the primary bread-winner for the family, this was the icing on the cake. With medical bills sky rocketing and minimal insurance coverage-I'm sure you can imagine the financial burden this family is heading for.
Even though the Deodato's will be mad at me for making this... they truly deserve it. Seeing Michelle work 14 hours days to pay off the medical bills shows what type of family this is. (Michelle you are one of a kind)
Like I mentioned, it is very uncomfortable to write these things but I think it would be awesome to raise some money to help pay for some of the medical bills for this beautiful man so he can recover stress free.
Prayers & Love for a speedy and stress free recovery.
PS. Uncle Frank - get better so we can do what we do best!

Thank you.
