The east coast Australia has fucked up big time by mixing up their wets and their dries and we're stepping in as only true podcasters dare to try sort out this mess the only way we know how: a live stream.
We'll be splitting the money three ways between these extremely worthy causes:
- Sikh Volunteers Australia, who do sensational work providing food to those in need (https://www.sikhvolunteersaustralia.org/)
- The Lismore branch of the New South Wales State Emergency Service. Lismore is getting absolutely rat-fucked and the SES are out there saving lives. (https://www.ses.nsw.gov.au/get-involved/donations/)
- Loop Growers Brisbane. This farm in Draper is the cornerstone of my (Ben, from the podcast Boonta Vista) community in so, so many ways and the floods have destroyed everything they have. At 7pm Brisbane time tonight (8pm Hobart time, google it for other time zones), we will be streaming a live episode of the podcast Boonta Vista as we attempt to break the world record for Most Things Or People Threatened With A Lead Pipe On A Live Podcast Episode. For every $500 donated, we will threaten ten (10) things or people with a lead pipe, so dig deep!
All money we raise will be split evenly between the three causes we've listed and sent promptly to them once the fundraiser is completed. We will not be keeping anything for ourselves because I personally only lost some stuff that was in my fridge after 4 days with the power out. I will rebuild.
