Dear Friends, I have started this page for BookSmart, the independent bookstore in Morgan Hill, CA
I have been a fan, customer, and supporter of BookSmart for over twenty-two years. As an avid reader and English teacher, I firmly believe that a bookstore directly reflects on the high standards that a community sets on literacy for that community. I volunteered to facilitate the book club at the store, and now we have met twelve times a year for over thirteen years.
Funds raised by this effort will go directly towards paying off the debt accumulated due to the recent move: delays in opening, remodeling costs, and the cost of moving a large inventory have created a deficit that needs to be addressed immediately. With our help to get over this bump, they are confident that they can remain a central part of the active South Santa Clara County community to preserve their mission for many years to come. BookSmart has been an integral part of the Morgan Hill, CA community for twenty-two years, and with our help, they can continue for the next twenty-two years or more.

· Cultural events—art classes, dance, author events, club meetings
