Book's fundraiser to return home

This is the first time I've ever done something on GoFundMe and I thought if other people can do this, perhaps I could do it too. I'm hoping to raise some money for my return home to Honolulu, the first time since I've been back in a few decades and I need your assistance.

The last time I was home was in late October 2000. It was a fantastic time as I climbed Diamond Head for my birthday and did the usual "tour around O'ahu" just to see things I remember again. Unfortunately, I lost my job at some point and I've never got the chance to come back. I would like a chance to see everything I remember so I can do a bit of reminiscing and also see a lot of new things I have not seen before.

The funds I am hoping to raise for this will involve a round trip flight to and from Pasco, Washington to Portland, Oregon before making it back home to Honolulu. I would then like to spend a few days in a hotel in Waikiki and then would like to use a Lyft or Uber for a bit of traveling on the road. My time in Honolulu would be anywhere between three to four days or a full week before returning home.

As anyone who has followed me over the years, I will document my time home by snapping photographs of everywhere I visit, perhaps as I do on my Instagram. Since it is on O'ahu, it would be a bit more visual than my regular visits elsewhere. I hope this will be a success for me and if it does, perhaps I could do another fundraiser for other cities I want to visit such as San Francisco/Oakland, El Paso, New York City and perhaps visits to British Columbia and maybe London and Tokyo. I've been a journalist for 37 years so I'm able to document this trip that will make people want to read it and perhaps enjoy my stay from my perspective. I would like a chance to return sometime in October for my next birthday although if I raise the funds earlier, a trip can happen much sooner.
