I’m raising funds for the 8th Annual Chicago Black Child Book Fair, which serves Chicago students by promoting positive-themed African-American children’s literature.

This fundraiser will help purchase books for elementary-aged school children. In years past, this event has gifted students books with characters who look like them as the stars of the story, not just someone in the background. That representation matters, and it is one of the reasons this book fair continues to be so meaningful.

Support is especially needed because many of the families we serve cannot afford to buy books for their children. With your help, more students can receive books through this fair and have access to stories that reflect them in a positive and affirming way.

Any donation, no matter the size, will help put books directly into the hands of children. Thank you for supporting the Chicago Black Child Book Fair and the students it serves.
