I am a first grade teacher, and my students are just beginning their journey as readers. Every day, I see their faces light up when they get to choose a book from our classroom library and read with our book buddies. Their excitement for reading is contagious, and I want to nurture that love of books beyond the classroom walls.

This Christmas, I hope to give each of my 19 students a Kohl’s Care book and book buddy of their very own. I know how special it would be for them to have their own reading buddy to snuggle up with during story time at home. With your support, I can make sure every child in my class has the chance to experience the same joy and motivation to read at home as they do at school.
