Hi, I’m Ruthie—an author, creator, and someone who believes deeply that stories can heal, connect, and change lives.

I’m adopted from Vietnam and recently, I have titanium shoulders and hips.

I recently started sharing my books in person—walking into schools, libraries, hospitals, and even unexpected places like the zoo—simply to give something meaningful to people, especially children. What began as a small, personal mission quickly turned into something bigger. Kids started asking how they could follow along. People asked how they could support it. That’s when I realized… this isn’t just a moment. It’s a movement.

I’ve created a growing collection of books, including I Became A Citizen, United States of America from A to Z, and The Adventures of Bob & Travel Bob. Together, they’re part of a larger vision: to inspire curiosity, belonging, imagination, and hope—especially for kids who need it most.

This GoFundMe will help support:

* Donating books to children in hospitals, schools, libraries, and military families

* Expanding the “Bob” experience with activity books and comforting, creative materials for kids who are sick or recovering

* Travel costs to bring these books directly to communities across the country on the Global Citizen tour, where I visit the states from my book and hopefully full circle, Vietnam.

* Creating more stories, resources, and experiences that reach children where they are

I’m not backed by a big publisher or company—this is grassroots, from the heart, built one connection at a time. Every book I hand to a child, every conversation, every smile… it matters.
