Boodle Boxes for Soldiers

My dear friend Lorrie Rodriguez and I are raising funds to send  "boodle boxes"  to soldiers in Afganistan and Iraq for Christmas. Several years ago Lorrie introduced me to this very meaningful program of sending boxes full of supplies and goodies from home to U.S. soldiers in some of the most remote and challenging locations.  These amazing men and women are enduring very tough circumstances and living conditions everyday to protect our freedoms.  These boxes are a welcome surprise for them as they contain highly sought after goods like... homemade cookies, toiletries, snacks,  a warm pair of socks or just a roll of Charmin... trust me...they are grateful! It is so important to let these soldiers know that we are thinking of them and appreciate their sacrifices for our freedoms.  

Although, we send boxes numerous times a year.  Christmas time is the most requested. So far, the program has received more than 1100 requests from the Chaplains in these areas.  It is our goal to raise enough money to do at least 100 of these boxes.  Each box costs somewhere between $70.00 - $80.00 after postage.  Please note, we will do as many boxes as money allows. Lorrie is both a military mom & a patriot and understands the need and value of this program and I am just a patriot who wants to help.  

We hope to have the funds raised by November 10th to allow time to shop, bake and pack before December 1st.
