It is time.

The fundraiser from the couple of the century has begun! So with much faggotry and campery Cyro and Richard release a joint fundraiser!

Working up to asking for this has taken a huge amount of time and courage, something that other working class folk will relate to: the shame in asking for money, the feeling of not being deserving or worth it. This has led us to working together to advocate for one another.

We cant do this alone, and we’ve spoken at length about this. Making a choice to do this incredibly intimate surgery together makes us feel assured.

Over the course of our relationship so far we have acted as access workers for each other, a legal witness, by each others side in hospitals, shared costs for hormones when the NHS failed us, written notes in mediations and physically fought for our safety.

This is how we want to fundraise for our top surgery. We want affirming care together. An example of this togetherness around gender affirming care has been: if one gets hormones before the other, the other helps split the cost of private hormones and if one has that care taken away the other will split the cost of sourcing them illegally. This is not hypothetical. This all happened. So, the same goes with this. Our choice is political.

We are doing this as best friends, lovers and co-workers. Not that we or anyone needs to justify how or why they’re fundraising for gender affirming surgery. It’s so exposing asking strangers for this in a country that hates you and a community who’s broke and fighting.

We encourage people to donate as birthday gifts, holiday presents, general worship, or kind gestures from someone we don’t know yet.
