Early this morning, our beloved cat Boo narrowly escaped a tragic encounter with a coyote. For reasons we still don’t understand, Boo ended up outside during the night—a rare occurrence for our usually indoor angel. Around dawn, our incredible roommate Caitlin heard strange noises and looked out the window to find a skinny coyote circling the tall palm tree in our front yard.

Terrified, we rushed outside. Our other brave roommate, Kat, fearlessly scared the coyote away. But Boo was clinging high up in the palm tree, desperately holding on for her life. With no tall ladder, we had no way to reach her. We called 911 and tried everything. I stood underneath with my arms out, hoping to catch her, but eventually, Boo fell.

We rushed her to the emergency vet, where we learned she had stripped back claws, a puncture wound to her chest, and signs of trauma from the fall. She’s now recovering—but the vet bill was a shock.

This was a completely unexpected expense, and we’re asking for help from anyone who loves animals and wants to support Boo’s healing. Every little bit helps. Whether it’s $5 or simply sharing this, we’re so grateful.
