So y'all know me.
Maybe you don't.
If you're the latter, let me take a second to introduce myself:
I'm Jensen, perhaps better known as Jack Rabid, and I am a social services baddie by day and drag performer/professional hair and makeup artist by night/sometimes also day. I'm also a dorky hobbyist historical costumer, cosplayer, former classical musician, avid watcher of very strange video essays, and I just so happen to be a transgender man with a great rack, and I am looking to change that via gender affirming top surgery this spring.
I've devoted my life to helping other people, either directly and very tangibly through helping them gain access to housing and other services, or through providing them an escape with my art. I am, and always have been, a very giving person. To my family and friends and to strangers alike. However, because of this, I, like so many, have now found myself in the situation where I can't just drop thousands of dollars to get my tits chopped. I have been able to save enough to pay for my consultation and deposit, but I need help raising the amount that's left.
Luckily for me, my day job does come with insurance which will cover this procedure, meaning I will not have to pay the full cost of my surgery out of pocket. I am looking to raise funds to cover the cost of meeting my deductible (which is $4000), as well as anything that is not included in my 75% coinsurance coverage up to my $5000 out of pocket maximum. I've set the goal at $6000 mainly to include other incidental costs such as food and home care/recovery items. I am very lucky that my surgeon is located here in Austin, TX, meaning that I will not need to budget for travel or room and board costs.
Having this help to take this step would mean everything to me. I am 30 years old, and I have been deeply uncomfortable with my chest ever since I first started "developing" when I was 9. That is 21 years of living with an honestly staggering weight on my chest, if you'll pardon the tired boob pun. I have helped so many others in my community raise funding for their own gender affirming surgeries, and have been happy to do so, because I know just how important this is to a person's health and happiness.
Thank you so much for your help in reaching this milestone in my life. I know everyone has their own trials and tribulations going on, but the incredible thing about helping a person raise money for this kind of gender affirming care is that you get to see the very tangible and direct result of putting more happiness and love into the world.
I am so thankful for everyone who is able to help in even just the smallest way. I know from my work that it's not just the large sums that count, it's every penny, every share, every bit of kindness and love.
Thank you so much, and let's send these boulders a rollin'!
