Bonnie Forrest's Funeral Fund

My mother, Bonnie Forrest, went home to be with the Lord on January 11th, 2017. At the age of 54.

Over the course of those 54 precious years, my mother touched many lives. She was the type of person that had a glow about her. She could lift the spirits of anyone she came into contact with. A friendly face with the warmest of smiles. Her joy was rooted in her Faith in Jesus Christ. A short trip to her Facebook page would quickly reveal to you how enthusiastic she was to share her Faith with others.

One of the final posts my mother made was a scriptural passage from the book of Matthew. Chapter 5:16 reads, "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven."

There's no doubt my mother openly and often let her light shine. She exemplified to my brother, Brad, and I what motherly love was and how strong a bond is between a mother and her children. She was also an incredible wife to my dad, showing selfless love and compassion through the good times and through times of hardship.

On the morning of her passing, I had the honor to be by her side. In fact, I was holding her in my arms when she took her final breaths. Her immune system had been progressively growing weak over the previous few weeks and a severe viral infection restricted her breathing. She was too weak to make the journey to the emergency room on her own strength, so we called for an ambulance to come. She was relaxed when we had sat her down to wait for the paramedics to arrive, but in the short amount of time waiting she drew her final breath. My dad, brother, and I were devastated.

After she arrived at the ER, the team was able to resuscitate her to the point of a faint heartbeat. It only lasted a brief second, then she was officially pronounced dead. We believe that faint heartbeat was God's way of letting us know that the doctors are finished, and now it is His turn to take care of her, eternally.

This funding campaign serves as our hope for some financial relief to a tragic circumstance.
My mother unfortunately did not qualify for life insurance due to a pre-existing condition. My dad is medically retired due to disability and lives on a fixed income. Therefore, as the oldest son, I have assumed the responsibility of final expenses. At age 24, this is a very difficult financial burden to handle on my own. I am humbly asking friends, family, colleagues, acquaintances, and all who feel lead to contribute to please do so for the cause of my mother, Bonnie.

With the funds raised from this campaign, I hope to pay for the funeral and burial costs for my mother. On behalf of my family, I sincerely appreciate all monetary contributions as well as prayers. May God bless you.
