On July 27th, our loving friend, trainer, and soccer coach Bonnie Roberts had a stroke on Wednesday night.

On July 28th, she had exploratory surgery to find the bleed. The good news is there appears to be no new bleeding; the bad news is they could not find where the bleed started, therefore being unable to fix or prevent it right now. Because of this, she is in the ICU unit and will be there for at least the next ten to twenty-one days, and there will most likely be a prolonged recovery period after her hospital stay.

July 29th: Bonnie moved from her bed to a recliner, a much more comfortable option. Today's visit, she was more talkative but still very sleepy. I read her all of her text messages as promised and told her about the generosity of her tribe. She was brought to tears. Please send her a letter/picture via snail mail (address posted below). Her walls in the hospital are bare, so let's make them more colorful! She still has a long road ahead.

July 30th: She continues to make some progress. More testing will happen in a few days. She ate today, yeah! :)

August 2nd: Doctors are very pleased with her progress! In the last two days, she has gotten up and walked! She is eating more and has been talking a bit more. We are still in this for the long haul, but happy with how far she has come! Keep praying and sending positive vibes; they are working!!!

August 3rd: The doctors continue to be delighted with her progress! More testing in the next few days, we will know more soon!

August 7th: The delay in my update has been because Bonnie has been doing VERY WELL! She has moved out of the ICU and to the step-down unit! Hopefully, she will be released in the next few days. I will keep you all posted!!

August 8th:

SHE IS HOME!! THANK YOU for all of your thoughts and prayers for her! She is still out of work and has a road to recovery, but it will not be a quick one. She is not able to work or drive, yet.... Many people have reached out about a meal train or helping Bon. She has not consistently been home and has had people with her every day. You are welcome to reach out to her directly; she loves hearing from you. She has also been updating her own Facebook and Instagram page.
